SS-31 (elamipretide) is a tetrapeptide containing a 2',6'-dimethyltyrosine at position 2. Sequence: [D-Arg]-[2',6'-Dmt]-Lys-Phe-NH₂. Empirical formula C₃₂H₄₉N₉O₅; MW 639.79 Da.

Reconstitution. For in-vitro laboratory handling, dissolve with sterile water. Compound is hygroscopic — handle in low-humidity conditions and re-cap immediately.
