GHK-Cu is a 1:1 complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine with a Cu(II) ion. The metal coordinates via the histidine imidazole N3, the N-terminal amine, and the deprotonated peptide bond nitrogen between Gly and His. Empirical formula C₁₄H₂₄N₆O₄·Cu; MW 403.93 Da (PubChem CID for the Cu complex: 24855608).
Reconstitution. For in-vitro laboratory handling, dissolve with sterile water. Compound is hygroscopic — handle in low-humidity conditions and re-cap immediately.
Stability profile. Lyophilized: stable at room temperature for up to 30 days sealed; long-term storage at -20 °C recommended. Reconstituted material: stable at 2–8 °C for up to 14 days.
